Dubois County Community Foundation one successful year later

Dubois County — The Dubois County Community Foundation is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its merger in June and the  embracing its newfound representation, engagement, and impact within Dubois County.

With over 92 volunteers currently serving on various foundation committees and advisory boards, the Community Foundation has transformed into not only an organization serving local people, but one comprised of passionate and talented individuals eager to get involved and  to make a difference.

When asked of the increased involvement coming from volunteers, donors, and nonprofits, CEO Brad Ward said, “If you want to change the world, you’re in the right place. We’re in it for good.”

Maintaining the same pre-merger staffing structure, the new Dubois County Community Foundation has successfully realigned duties and consolidated its administrative functions, placing emphasis on the areas of donor services, development and community impact.  This has allowed the Community Foundation to change its overall approach.

Additional time and realignment of resources has allowed the foundation to take a broadened and more active role in the community, strengthening its partnerships with nonprofits and enhancing its ability to strategize with numerous community activities, projects, and events, rather than simply reacting to the needs of Dubois County.

In the first quarter of 2013, the foundation has already received $648,000 in gifts from over 548 donors to grow existing endowments. Approximately $430,000 will be distributed from the foundation this year to benefit local nonprofits.
