Dubois County CARES seeking input on alcohol and vaping from parents

Parents of children in Dubois County schools are urged to participate in Dubois County CARES’ biennial parent survey.

The questionnaire, which takes only a few minutes to complete, asks parents to share their perceptions and opinions about youth using alcohol and vaping nicotine or marijuana. Responses are anonymous.

According to Dubois County Coalition for Adolescent Resilience and Empowerment Strategies Director Candy Neal, the survey is important to the community because parents’ opinions and values often become their children’s reality.

“Parents have a huge influence on children’s lives and their behavior, often without realizing it,” Neal said. “If we know what parents are thinking, that puts us a step ahead in our mission of keeping youth alcohol- and drug-free. The survey responses often let us know what assistance and other resources to offer our youth, and the parental responses as a whole are tracked over time.”

The survey, with a QR code for access, may be found at www.DuboisCountyCARES.org and also on the CARES Facebook Page and Instagram account. The address for direct access to the survey is research.zarca.com/r/BeyqcV.

The survey closes May 3.
