Marissa Weisman is in the Dubois County 4-H Spotlight this month.

Marissa is the daughter of Phil and Stacy Weisman of Jasper and is an active member of the Wrangler 4-H Horse and Pony Club and the Lucky Irish 4-H Club.

During her 4-H career, Marissa has excelled in Ceramics, Horse, Memory Book, Small Pets, Photography, Creative Writing, Drawing, Woodcraft and Veterinary Science. She has also represented Dubois County a number of times at the Indiana State Fair.

She has taken these positive experiences she has had and used them to teach others and help them have a rewarding 4-H career.

She has served as President and Vice-President of her 4-H Clubs and has been actively involved in Community Service projects, Horse Judging Teams and Hippology.

Marissa has won numerous awards for her outstanding 4-H achievements including Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion awards. She also has an Outstanding Wrangler and a Career Achievement Award, both of which attest to her commitment and hard work.

Even with this success she has learned that it is not about winning ribbons, but, what you learn along the way that matters most.

Marissa’s parents are proud of her accomplishments and growth while participating in Dubois County 4-H.

According to Kendall Martin the County Extension Director, “4-H has taught Marissa about leadership, cooperation and determination. We see her as a motivated self-starter that manages her time well and sets goals. She is encouraging to others and supports them. 4-H has led her in this direction and the skills she has learned here will stay with her no matter where she goes or what career path she takes. She truly lives the 4-H Pledge.”
