Duane A. “Haney” Heeke, 52

Duane A. “Haney” Heeke, age 52 of Dubois, passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday (January 29, 2013) at Brookside Village Retirement Community in Jasper.

Duane was born on May 10, 1960 in Jasper, IN to Eugene and Geraldine (Denu) Heeke.

He worked for Wabash Valley Produce since graduating from High School, over 30 years. He was a member of the Northeast Dubois High School class of 1978.

He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois.

He enjoyed playing golf, riding motorcycles, and was an avid Boston Red Sox and Green Bay Packers fan.

Surviving, mother, Geraldine Heeke, Dubois; three sisters, Donna Renner and husband Mike, Otwell, Deborah Stenftenagel and husband Joe, Jasper and Janel Knies and husband Craig, Jasper; one brother, Perrin Heeke and wife Jill, Dubois; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his father, Eugene Heeke, and one brother Valery Heeke.

Funeral services for Duane Heeke will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (February 2, 2013) at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday (February 1, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Raphael Catholic Church, Vista Care Hospice, the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, or to a favorite charity.
