Drunken driver collides with mobile home in Dubois
A man was charged with drunken driving after he crashed into a mobile home early Friday morning.
According to Dubois County Sheriff’s Department, Matthew Lichlyter, 26, of Dubois, was northbound on State Road 545 in a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado when he ran the stop sign at the t-intersection with Main Street in Dubois at about 12:30 a.m. The truck ran off the road and went down an embankment running into a mobile home at 4517 N. Agnes Street.
An occupant identified as the homeowner’s adult son was reportedly awakened when the truck crashed into the home. He was uninjured.
Lichlyter had minor injuries to his face, according to police.
Deputies determined Lichlyter was under the influence of alcohol. Testing determined he had a blood alcohol content of .105 percent. He was charged with operating while intoxicated and booked into the Dubois County Security Center after being treated for his injuries.
The truck was considered a total loss. The trailer had major damages and deputies noted the water and sewer lines appeared to be dislocated. They estimated damages were between $10,000 and $15,000.
The Dubois Volunteer Fire Department and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services assisted.
