Driver falls asleep and hits grain bin

An 82-year-old Jasper man crashed a 2003 Dodge into a large grain bin on Tuesday at 12:35 p.m.

Eugene Goodman was driving east on SR 164 when he fell asleep and ran off the north side of the road. He went down an embankment and struck the grain bin.

Goodman complained of chest pain.

The accident resulted in approximately $10,000 in damages.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Memorial EMS and Celestine First Responders.
