Downtown Revitalization project Aug. 8 update

Jasper’s Downtown Revitalization Project is progressing through Phase II, with work now centered on the intersection of 9th and Main streets.

The intersection closed August 4 for final repairs, which are expected to take at least three weeks. During this time, east-west truck traffic is being redirected to 15th Street. The rest of Main Street is open to traffic.

The project’s timeline includes demolishing the intersection, updating utilities, and working on storm sewers in the first week.

In the following weeks, crews will build stormwater inlets, concrete curbing, and complete flatwork such as sidewalks, ramps, and driveways.

New four-way stop signs are now in place at the 5th and Main and 7th and Main intersections.

Main Street’s final paving is set to happen soon after the 9th Street intersection repairs wrap up.
