Douglas Ray Curles, 63

Douglas Ray Curles, 63, of Keystone Heights, Florida and formerly of Jasper passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at his home.

He was born at Honolulu, Hawaii on April 19, 1951 to John and Eileen (Joaquin) Curles. He married Patricia (Russell) on September 8, 1973 in Tampa, Florida. They were married for 41 years.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970. He loved volunteering for churches, cooking in soup kitchens and sitting on his back porch enjoying nature.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Curles; mother, Eileen (Lynn) Jakcsy and her husband Ron, Keystone Heights, Fla.; two daughters, Tanisha Curles (Ken) of Evansville and Tyan Mullen (Brian) of Jasper; two sons, Doug Curles (Pam), Camp Hill, Ala. and James Curles and (Katherine), Carmel; grandchildren, Jonathan Smith (Hannah), Courtney Curles, Brittney Fannin (Braeden), Brea Mullen, Camden Walker, Talon Walker and great grandchildren, Brooklyn Fannin and Eevee Smith; sisters, Tobbie Valentine (Alvin) of Dade City, Fla. and Leilauni Wright of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, John Curles of Keystone Heights, Fla., Jerry Parish (Lorrie Ann) of Keystone Heights, Fla., and Terry Parish, Gainesville, Fla.;

Preceding him in death is his father, John Edward Curles Sr. and brother, Greg Curles.

Funeral services for Douglas Ray Curles will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Enlow Jasper City Cemetery. V.F.W. Post # 673 will conduct military grave side rites.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Achieve International, Indianapolis and St. Joseph Catholic Church or to St. William Catholic Church, Keystone Heights, Florida.
