Douglas R. Klem, 60, Jasper, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
Doug was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on March 8, 1956, to Victor and Ruth (Bieker) Klem.
Doug previously worked at Kimball Hospitality for approximately 35 years. He enjoyed western movies, cooking, camping, and was an avid fan of I.U. basketball.
He is survived by one daughter, Amy Dawkins and her husband Dr. Adam Dawkins, M.D. of Jasper; one son, D.J. Klem and his wife Tasha of Haysville; five grandchildren; four sisters, Norma Padgett and her husband Jeff of Otwell, Corma Knebel and her husband Gerald of Jasper, Barbara Eichmiller of Jasper and Debra Gehlhausen and her husband Scott of Jasper; four brothers,
Victor Klem Jr. and his wife Ann of Mariah Hill, Richard Klem and his wife Sonia of Jasper, Theodore Klem and his wife Gayla of Jasper and Lawrence Klem of Jasper.
Preceding him in death besides his parents are two infant sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Laura Rose Klem, and a brother-in-law, George Eichmiller.
Funeral services Douglas R. Klem will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
