Dorothy Mae Seitz, 88, of Jasper, formerly of Haysville, passed away at 1:17 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Dorothy was born in Haysville, Indiana, on October 1, 1929, to Leo and Amanda (Kieffner) Meyer. She married Charles J. Seitz on October 6, 1949, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2006.
She worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, WELCA, TOPS, Women’s Homemaker Club, V.F.W. Auxiliary, and Navy Auxiliary Ship #90.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting, playing games, setting jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are one daughter, Peggy (Steve) Stemle of Owensboro, Ky.; one son, Terry (Deena) of Jasper; four grandchildren, Holly (Todd) Smith, Kristen (Phil) Ruhe, Brad Stemle and Lori (Maurey) Werner; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara (Bob) Lottes of Loogootee; one brother, John (Sandy) Meyer of Merritt Island, Fla.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are one brother, Robert Meyer, and daughter-in-law, Ann Seitz.
A service for Dorothy Mae Seitz will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church on Saturday. The Navy Club and Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
