Dorothy Mae Egg, 85, Jasper

Dorothy Mae Egg, 85, Jasper, passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

Dorothy was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on April 20, 1931 to Leslie and Hazel (Winkler) Harlow. She married Virgil Egg on October 15, 1949 in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1992.

She was a graduate of the Huntingburg High School Class of 1949. Dorothy worked at Sears for eight years and then she retired from Old National Bank after working there for 26 years. She was a charter member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper. She enjoyed going to casinos and shopping. She also loved dogs.

She is survived by one daughter, Vicky Egg of Jasper; one son, Mike Egg and his wife Jan of Jasper; three grandchildren, Melissa Hargett, Melanie and Matthew Egg; five great-grandchildren, Ayla, Rylan, and Aubrey Hargett, and Kyah and Haven Egg; one sister, Marian Prior and her husband Paul of Newcastle, Ind.; one brother,
William Harlow and his wife Jean of Brownsburg, Ind.

Preceding her in death are three sisters, Phyllis Dameron, Mildred Meloski, and an infant, Ramona Harlow; and two brothers, Bob and Ronald Ray Harlow.

Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Egg will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

As per Dorothy’s request, there will be no visitation.
