Dorothy M. Schnarr, 101, Jasper

Dorothy M. Schnarr, 101, of Jasper, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

Dorothy was born in Portersville, Indiana on August 23, 1915 to Henry and Nannie (Nelson) Schnarr.

She was a farmer in the Portersville area and cared for her sister, Bessie, until she died on May 20, 1999. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Alfordsville, Indiana. She enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by a niece, Ruth Bush (Dan) of Otwell; two nephews, Paul Gary Schnarr and Joseph Dean Schnarr, both of Otwell; great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is one sister, Bessie Elizabeth Schnarr and one brother, Paul Schnarr.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow in Portersville Cemetery in Portersville, Indiana. Rev. Jim Goeppner will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. service time at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel on Friday.
