Dorothy M. Rees, age 86, of Jasper, passed away at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013

at The Timbers of Jasper.

Dorothy was born on October 21, 1926 in Jasper, IN to John S. and Christina (Schuetter) Mehringer. She married Claude E. Rees on October 14, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, IN. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2012.

Dorothy had worked for the Jasper Glove Company for many years, and later for Aristokraft in Jasper.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the St. Ann’s Society.

She enjoyed embroidery, quilting for local churches, camping, singing, and flowers.

Joyce Kern, Jasper, IN

Two sons,

Mike Rees and wife Judy, Jasper, IN

Larry Rees and wife Kathy, Jasper , IN

Twelve grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren

Two brothers,

William (Bill), and Lewis (Dud) Mehringer, of Jasper

Preceding her in death beside her husband are brothers Eugene, Bernard, Robert, Norbert, Alvin and Delmar Mehringer, and sisters Helen Mehringer, Virginia Jochem, Leona Seng, Mary Lou Hohl, and Marcella Mehringer who died in childhood.

Funeral services for Dorothy Rees will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday (August 3, 2013) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday (August 2, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m.
