Dorothy M. Lechner, 86

Dorothy M. Lechner, age 86 of Jasper, passed away at 3:35 p.m. on Friday (June 7, 2013) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Dorothy was born on April 9, 1927 in Louisville, KY to John and Irma (Hassfurther) Woebkenberg. She married Edward Lechner on June 30, 1949 at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand, IN. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1998.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, the Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella, the St. Ann’s Society, the Victory Home Economics Club, and the Jasper VFW Post 673 Auxiliary.

She enjoyed bingo and playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband is one brother, Bernard Woebkenberg.

Funeral services for Dorothy Lechner will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday (June 12, 2013) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (June 11, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Daughters of Isabella and the St. Ann’s Society will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m.
