Dorothy Gene Mahle, 92

Dorothy Gene Mahle, 92, died Friday, Sept 25, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Susan, in Jasper.

She was born in Rockford to Anna LaPuma Cascio and Michael D. Cascio on Sept 12, 1923.

Dorothy was one of eight children.

She was married to Orville Mahle and had three daughters: Susan Williams of Jasper, IN, Maribeth Hookway, (husband Alan Hookway) of O’Fallon, Ill., and Rebecca Mahle of Rockford, Ill. She is survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was a WWII Navy Wave Specialist 3rd Class, Service Representative for Montgomery Ward and a life-long, charter member of St. Bernadette Parish in Rockford, Ill.

She enjoyed family picnics, traveling, card playing, and dancing.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Rockford, Illinois, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at the church.

Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made for memorial masses. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, assisted the family.
