Doris M. Lasher, 82, Jasper
Doris M. Lasher, 82, passed away on January 2, 2024, at St. Charles Healthcare Center in Jasper, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Gerald, Ind., on October 9, 1941, to Frank and Lillian (Glenn) Miller.
A 1959 Oil Township High School graduate, Doris soon married Donald “Don” Lasher on February 20, 1960, sharing 63 years together until his death just a week earlier on December 24, 2023.
Doris retired from General Electric. Never one to sit still, she helped on the family farm and was a cake decorator, making several wedding cakes. She was a cook at Marcy’s Restaurant for over 15 years and worked at H&R Block.
Doris was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, taught second-grade religious education, volunteered with shooting matches and funeral luncheons, and crocheted blankets for the parish raffle.
She was a social butterfly who loved to sing, dance, and spend time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Michelle Rogier (Linus), Indianapolis, Valerie Ambrose (Steve) of Bloomington, Ill. and Faron Lasher (Amy) of Jasper; siblings, Earl Wayne Miller (Martha) of Tell City, Linda Miller of Branchville, Connie Hagman (Ronnie) of Tell City, Betty Herzog (Karl) of Branchville, Jerry Smith (Brandi) of Florida, and Neal Smith (Becky) of Huntingburg; grandchildren, Kristi Dahlquist (Paul), Adam Rogier (Risa), Erica Perryman (Andrew), Derek and Claire Ambrose, Kyle and Kelsie McWilliams and Evie Lasher and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Finn, Harlow, Brooklyn and Jackson.
Preceding her in death was her father, Frank Miller, her mother, Lillian Brunson and her husband, Don Lasher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held jointly for Doris and Don at 10:00 a.m. CST on Monday, January 8, 2024, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bristow. Father Luke Waugh will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 7, 2024, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. CST at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with a prayer service at 5:00 PM, and on Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. CST at the church.
The family would appreciate memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
