Doris Jean Colley, 92, Washington State

Doris Jean Colley, 92, of Washington State, passed away at 9:43 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at a skilled nursing facility in Port Orchard, Washington.

Doris was born on July 3, 1933, in Huntingburg, Indiana, to William and Ardella (Thieman) Froehlich.

She married Laurence Kutas on May 24, 1952, in Los Angeles, California. To them were born four children: Michael L Kutas, Susan L Kutas, (Roof)), Mary Ellen Kutas, Linda Kutas (Franklin).

On June 28, 1984, Doris married Tom Colley, the love of her life. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1997.

Doris enjoyed a beautiful life. She graduated from George Washington High School in Los Angeles, California, on June 14, 1951. Doris worked for the FBI and had many secretarial skills. She worked at Bishop Montgomery Catholic High School for several years. Real estate was a true passion.

She returned to Dubois County in October 2023. She enjoyed long country drives, as well as the activities with friends at St Charles Assisted Living, where she lived for 19 months.

She recently relocated to be closer to family in Washington State, where she joined her children and visited with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Doris will be interred with Tom at Arlington National Cemetery. Services pending.
