Doris Jane Kendall, 85

Doris Jane Kendall, 85, of Huntingburg, passed away at 1:53 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.

She was born November 11, 1928 in Jasper to Silas P. and Emma Catherine (Lampert) Birk.

She married Russell Kendall on January 27, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

Doris was a homemaker; a retail sales clerk; a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality; and enjoyed cross-stitch, embroidery and quilting.

She was preceded in death by:  her husband, Russell Kendall, who passed away September 6, 2013; one daughter, Mary Beth Seifert; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kendall; and one great grandson, Jackson Paul Veirs.

She is survived by two daughters and two son-in-laws, Patricia and husband David Seger of Jasper and Rebecca S. and husband Ken Bowling of New Haven, Ky.; wo sons and one daughter-in-law, Gregory A. Kendall of Jasper and John F. and wife Beth Kendall of Holland; one beloved son-in-law, Bob Seifert of Jasper; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Doris Jane Kendall will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Sunday.  A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice or St. Mary’s Church.  Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com.
