Doris Blowers, 85, Gentryville

Doris Blowers, 85, of Gentryville, IN. died January 28, at St. Charles Healthcare Campus.

She was born February 1, 1934, in Gentryville to Otto and Esther (Hicks) Oskins.

She graduated from Gentryville High School and worked at Wedeking’s Store in Dale and later retired from the USPS. She was a lifetime member of the Gentryville United Methodist Church. She and her husband were the Caretakers of Garden of Memory Cemetery for many years. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. (Bob); two sons, Frank and Rob Blowers; a brother in infancy; and sisters, Helen Bolton and Margaret Griepenstroh.

She is survived by a daughter, Janet Blowers; grandchildren, Shannon (John) Bender, Tiffany and Cole Blowers; great-grandchildren, Shawn and Sarah Bender and Addaley Moseley; two brothers. Jim (Fern) Oskins and Richard (Gail) Oskins.

A funeral service is planned for Monday, February 3, 2020, at 1 p.m. CST with visitation from 10:30 a.m. CST till service time at the Gentryville United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gentryville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Garden of Memory Cemetery.
