Doreatha L. “Dee” Davis, 91, of Jasper, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Serenity Springs in Jasper.

She was born on August 4, 1934, in Celestine, Indiana, to Albert and Rosa (Schepers) Fromme.
On February 13, 1954, she married the love of her life, Dennis L. Davis, at St. Celestine Catholic Church, beginning a marriage that was blessed with many years of love and devotion.
Dee was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She found joy in reading and watching the Hallmark Channel. Above all else, her family was the center of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, and her greatest happiness came from the love she shared with her children, grandchildren, and all those she held dear.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis L. Davis, who passed away March 14, 2007; two children, David L. and Neil A. Davis; one grandson, Brandon Davis; one daughter-in-law, Carol Davis; four sisters, Marcella Kluesner, Mary Fuhs, Martha Howard and infant Madonna Fromme; six brothers, Oscar, Othmar, Jerome, Hugo, Hilbert and infant Gilbert Fromme.
She is survived by two daughters, Joni (Robert) Galletly of Jupiter, Florida and Kim (Antonio) McGill of Mexico; four sons, Joseph (companion: Pat) Davis of Evansville, Phillip (Connie) Davis of Marion, Virginia, Vincent (Denise) Davis of Austin, Texas and James (companion: Bernadette) Davis of Jasper; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses at Serenity Springs and St. Croix Hospice for their care while taking care of Doreatha.
A funeral mass for Doreatha L. Davis will be held at 11:00 a.m., EDT on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Father Ackerman will officiate the mass.
Visitation will take place from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the mass at the church.
Rainey Funeral Home in Dale has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
