Donnie Lee Truelove, 65, Morganton, N.C.

Donnie Lee Truelove, 65, of Morganton, N.C., went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Born in Jasper, Ind., on April 5, 1957. He was the son of the late Virgil Truelove and Nancy Hall Truelove.

Donnie was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, especially hunting for mushrooms. He also enjoyed working in his building and target practicing.

A faithful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Donnie is survived by his wife, Cynthia Truelove; sons, Neal Truelove and Jason Truelove; grandchildren, Sharena, Tydon, Autumn, Lyanna, Lenaya, David, Melea, and Uriah; great-grandchildren, Reece, Roman, and Tae; brothers, Kevin and Keith Truelove; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends; and his beloved dogs, Edie and Ivory.

In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Truelove.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Sossoman Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Brian Buckner officiating. Military honors will be provided by the NC National Guard.
