Donald W. Barrett, 74, Coe, passed away at 1:25 am on Saturday, November 20, 2016, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg.

He was born February 13, 1942, in Pike County to Robert and Elsie (Bailey) Barrett; and was united in marriage to Sharon McKinney on November 24, 1962, in Spurgeon.

Donald was a retired industrial mechanic employed at Alcoa. He was also a member of Spurgeon General Baptist Church. the United Steelworkers Local 104 and former member of the UMWA. Donald enjoyed spending time with family, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and Indiana University basketball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant sister, Roberta Barrett; one brother, Paul Barrett; and two infant twin great-grandchildren, Tucker and Tillie Sims.

Donald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon (McKinney) Barrett of Coe; one son, Jackie (Ann) Barrett of Winslow; three daughters, Kelly (Steve) Potter of Winslow, Shelly Barrett of Spurgeon and Joni (Jamie) Stafford of Spurgeon; two brothers, Jerry (Elaine) Barrett of Winslow and Mike (Katie) Barrett of Petersburg; two sisters, Juanita (Keith) Roy of Petersburg and And Cindy (Bill) Cuneo of Spurgeon; eight grandchildren, Colton Potter of Winslow, Kayla (Todd) Sims of Winslow, Krista (David) Hay of Winslow, Matthew Barrett and Kelsey Barrett of Winslow, Jade (Heather) Holmes of Vincennes, Hazel Uppencamp of Spurgeon, and Naomi Stafford of Spurgeon; seven great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Donald W. Barrett will be held at 10:00 a.m. EDT Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Burial will take place in Spurgeon Cemetery in Spurgeon. Reverend Marc Grimes will officiate the service.

Friends may call for visitation at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
