Donald L. Reese, 77
Donald L. Reese, age 77, of Huntingburg died at 12:15 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at his residence in Huntingburg.
He was born on January 20, 1934 at Huntingburg, Indiana to Earl and Mary K. “Toots” (Zink) Reese. He retired from Jofco in Jasper, IN, owned & operated Reese’s Ceramic Shop, was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Y.M.I., and the National Artifact Society. He was an avid Indian artifact collector, fisherman, hunter, and sports enthusiast. He was preceded in death by a son, Doug Reese. On November 27, 1954, he was united in marriage to Shirley J. Lemond at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years – Shirley Reese of Huntingburg, IN,
Three daughters – Annette (Alan) Heichelbech and Beth (Kevin) Mathies of Huntingburg, IN, and Suzanne (Steve) Nordhoff of Ireland, Indiana
One son – David (Mary) Reese of Huntingburg, IN,
A sister – Jean Hoing of Huntingburg, IN,
Seventeen (17) grandchildren and twelve (12) Great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Donald Reese will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Rev. Mark O’Keefe, O.S.B., will officiate the funeral mass.
Friends may call for visitation with the family from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9th at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A vigil service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
