Donald G. Lasher, 83, Jasper

Donald G. Lasher, 83, passed away on December 24, 2023, at St. Charles Healthcare Center in Jasper.

He was born in Bristow on August 12, 1940, the son of Alfred and Ruth (VanWinkle) Lasher.

Don was united in marriage to Doris Miller on February 20, 1960, and they shared nearly 63 memorable years together.

He retired from the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades #156, and he was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Don loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A lifelong Perry County farmer, he enjoyed camping and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Lasher of Jasper; his children, Michelle Rogier (Linus) of Indianapolis, Valerie Ambrose (Steve) of Bloomington, Ill., and Faron Lasher (Amy) of Jasper; a brother, Sheldon Lasher (Agnes) of Hawesville; grandchildren, Kristi Dahlquist (Paul), Adam Rogier (Risa), Erica Perryman (Andrew), Derek and Claire Ambrose, Kyle and Kelsie McWilliams and Evie Lasher and five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Finn, Harlow, Brooklyn and Jackson.

Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings, Leota Johnson, Jim, Lawrence “Monk”, Richard, Carl, Bob and Don’s twin brother in infancy, Ronald Lasher

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. CST on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bristow. Rev. Luke Waugh will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. CST at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. CST until service time at the church.

The family would appreciate memorial contributions be made to St. Isidore Cemetery or the Alzheimer’s Association.
