Donald Eugene Leibering, 74, Huntingburg

Donald Eugene Leibering, 74, of Huntingburg, passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born November 13, 1942, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Walter Eugene and Alberta Helen (Meyer) Leibering and was united in marriage to Glenda Jay Frick on July 25, 1964, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.

Don worked for the City of Huntingburg for 42 years as a lineman with the Electric Department. He was an avid fisherman; a veteran of the United States Army; and a member of the Huntingburg V.F.W. Post #2366 and Jasper American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Leibering; and his daughter, Stacy Lynn Durcholz.

He is survived by his son, Timothy Leibering of Jasper; his mother, Alberta Helen Leibering of Huntingburg; four brothers, Steve Leibering of Ferdinand, Gary Leibering, Doug Leibering and Richard Leibering, all of Huntingburg; five grandchildren, Justin Leibering, Nathan Leibering, Erica Rainey, Brooklyn Harris and Luke Durcholz; and two great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Funeral services for Donald Leibering will be held at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  Pastor Mark West will officiate at the service.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and also from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center.
