Donald “Duke” Emmons, 78, French Lick

Donald J. “Duke” Emmons, 78, of French Lick, received his angel wings on December 15, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in West Baden Springs, Ind., on August 1, 1946 to William Earl and Edith Pearl (Jones) Emmons.

He was a 1965 graduate of Springs Valley High School and proudly served his country in the Army Reserves. Duke was a member of the West Baden United Methodist Church and International Labor Union Local 741, where he enjoyed attending meetings and other activities.

Duke was a long-time employee of Krempp Construction Company in Jasper, Indiana, retiring in 2006. He also owned and worked on his farm in Dubois County.

He loved traveling, having taken several road trips and cruises to Alaska, New England, and the Caribbean and visiting with family and friends.

Duke is survived by his companion of over 30 years, Carolyn Neukam of West Baden Springs; brother, David Emmons of West Baden Springs; sisters, Arnetta Robison and Norma Stephenson, both of West Baden Springs, and Donna Quinn (Tony) of Hillham; sister-in-law, Doris Emmons, of French Lick; 12 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.

Duke was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Dean and Denver Emmons; brothers-in-law, Warren Stephenson and Joe Robison; sister-in-law, Jeanette Emmons; and nephews, Glen and Ryan Emmons.

A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor John Moffatt and Pastor Jim Bennett on Sunday, December 22nd, at 12:30 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home. Burial followed at Ames Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home, and 11:30 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday.
