Donald D. “Don” Choate, 80, Ferdinand

Donald D. “Don” Choate, 80, of Ferdinand, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper.  

Don was born in Birdseye on March 8, 1941, to Elba A. and Melva M. (Cook) Choate.  

He enjoyed fishing.  

He is survived by one son, Jeffery Choate (Robin) of Bloomington; one daughter, Elaine Choate of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Gilliatt (Richard “Doc”) of Jasper; one brother, Allen Choate of Birdseye.  

Preceding him in death was one daughter, Cheryl Young, and one brother, Larry Choate.  

Private funeral services were held at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Homes in Jasper.
