Donald A. Zink, 82

Donald A. Zink, age 82, of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:15 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born May 3, 1929 in Ferdinand, Indiana to Joseph and Bertha (Luebbers) Zink. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Rose Beyke on April 14, 1951 in Jasper. Don worked at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg for more than 20 years as head of maintenance. He was a member of: St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Y.M.I. Club, V.F.W. Post #2366, Jasper American Legion, and previously served as a Huntingburg City Councilman for 12 years. Don was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Kathleen Rose Zink, who died April 8, 2007; four sisters – Mary “Toots” Reese, Corrine Zehnder, Stella Heidorn and Delores Zink; and three brothers – Ralph Zink, Maurice Zink and Omar Zink.
He is survived by:
Two sons and two daughter-in-laws,
- Greg (Sandy) Zink – Huntingburg, IN
- Kurt (Jo) Zink – Hamilton, OH
Three daughters and one son-in-law,
- Lindy (Jim) Gunselman – Jasper, IN,
- Kathy Zink – Jasper, IN,
- Stacey Patton – Jasper, IN,
by (12) grandchildren and (6) great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Donald A. Zink will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Huntingburg. The V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Tuesday. A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday afternoon, followed by a Y.M.I. memorial service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
