Dolores E. Schaeffer, 90

Dolores E. Schaeffer, 90, of Ferdinand, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center, Jasper.

She was born July 3, 1924 in Huntingburg to August & Theresia (Brinkman) Reutman. She married Hugo A. Schaeffer on October 1,1946 in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 30,1994.

Dolores was a member of Saint Ferdinand Parish and its St. Anne’s Sodality. She was a member of St. Anne’s Sodality Choir, Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 Auxillary, and Ferdinand Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and yard work. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Diana Buechler and her husband Ron of Huntingburg and Mary Kay Schroeder and her husband Bernie of Jasper; three grandchildren, Cory Buechler and wife Amy, Brandon Schroeder and wife Amberly, and Janelle Schroeder; three great-grandchildren, Halle Buechler, Bodie Buechler and Kinsley Schroeder; one sister, Jeanette Auffart of Ferdinand; one brother, Dennis Reutman and wife Diane of Huntingburg.

She was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Schaeffer in infancy; and two brothers, Clarence and Robert Reutman.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 7 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
