Dinosaur-themed Happy Halloween Weekends roaring back to Holiday World

Holiday World’s fan-favorite Happy Halloween Weekends is returning with dinosaurs in 2027. The family-friendly event features a 12-acre Dino Corn Maze Adventure with life-sized dinosaurs, some of which are animatronic and feature realistic sound effects. Every Saturday night, weather permitting, Dinos Soar in the Sky drone show will feature 500 drones and fireballs. This year, the show will change each week between three music genres: pop, rock and country.

Happy Halloween Weekends, which began in 2012, has become so popular that the parks have added an additional weekend this year. The park has also continued to expand the event operating hours with 10 pm closings on October 10, 17, and 24. For the next seven weekends, Holiday World will be open to the public with additional Halloween-themed entertainment, walk-through mazes, hayrides, trick-or-treating for children 12 and under, the 12-acre Dino Corn Maze Adventure and Dinos Soar in the Sky Drone Show.

“Dinosaurs are back by popular demand,” says Lauren Crosby, Director of Entertainment and Events and Fourth-Generation Owner. “Between the Dino Corn Maze Adventure, entertainment, activites and delicious fall food, it’s impossible to fit this much Halloween fun into one day.”

Dinos Soar in the Sky drone show will rotate between three all-new shows on Saturday nights. Each show will have unique scenes and soundtracks based on pop, rock or country genres. Complete with fireballs shooting from the cornfields, the show will feature 500 drones. Holiday World’s Halloween entertainment lineup also includes a new stage show: Halloween High School: Freshman Year, as well as a new DJ Dance Party and Ghouling Pianos.

Holiday World also has new fall flavors on the menu for Happy Halloween Weekends, including:

  • Chicken Parmesan Sandwich – Santa’s Merry Marketplace
  • Horseman’s Smash Burger with fried pickles and pimento cheese – Goblin Burger
  • Maple Pecan Funnel Cake – Freedom Funnel Cakes
  • Dino Mac Bowl with pepper jack, Dino nuggets, onion straws, and barbecue sauce –Snackhouse
  • And more!

“If you haven’t planned your fall break trip yet, now is the perfect time to book at Santa’s Cottages or one of our many lodging partners for a weekend filled with fun,” adds Crosby.

Voting is still open for Happy Halloween Weekends to claim the top title of Best Theme Park Halloween event in USA Today’s 10Best poll. Happy Halloween Weekends runs Saturdays and Sundays from September 19 through November 1. Friday Night Live! runs through October 30. Holiday World is open November 7 & 8 for final rides of the season.
