Dinner to benefit single father, retired vet

This Sunday, Jay Edele’s friends and family are hosting a special benefit to help the St. Henry native fight cancer.

Jay Edele was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in April and has been taking chemo and radiation treatments in Louisville since that time.

He is a lifetime resident of St. Henry who graduated from Southridge High School. After retiring from the U.S. Army, Jay returned to the area and is now a single father in a fight for his life.

With the treatments, the expenses are adding up quickly and continue to pile on stress and concern for Jay and his family.

To help in his time of need, friends and family will hold a benefit in his honor to help with medical and living
expenses to allow him to focus on treatment and recovery.

A pork chop dinner and auction is planned for July 31 at the St. Henry Knights of Columbus beginning at 11 a.m. and running to 1 p.m. Schwoeppe pork chops, baked beans, potato salad, soft drinks and desserts will be available to purchase and a silent auction will be held.

All money raised will be used to help reduce Jay’s growing medical expenses.
