Diane M. Knies, 73, Schnellville

Diane M. Knies, 73, of Schnellville, Indiana, passed away at 7:40 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

Diane was born in Schnellville on October 27, 1943 to Hilbert and Antionette (Prechtel) Knies.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Heart Campus. Diane loved playing bingo, and listening to classic country music, with Kitty Wells being her favorite. She loved greeting everyone with a smile and taught by example, showing unconditional love and forgiveness to everyone she met.

She is survived by two sisters, Janice (James) Erny of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and Marilyn (Gerald) Allen of Milan, Ind.; two brothers, Steve (Mary) Knies of Boonville and Lonnie Knies of Owensboro; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Erny Wood of Lafayette, Kevin (Catherine) Erny of Jefferson City, Mo., Kristin Erny (Mike) Meyer of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Karmin Erny (Glen) Goeppner of Ireland, Jeff (Bobbi) Allen of Maineville, Ohio, Jason Allen of St. Pete Beach, Fla., Zachary (Angie) Knies of Boonville and Travis Knies of Boonville; one uncle, Ernest Prechtel of Birdseye; one aunt, Lauretta Prechtel of Santa Claus, 24 great-nieces and nephews; eight great-great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Hilbert and Antionette Knies.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Diane M. Knies will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time at the church on Wednesday.
