Deputies seeking witnesses to fender bender
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department is seeking witnesses to a crash that occurred at Bretzeville Junction last Friday.
According to authorities, Stola R. Kissel, 64, of Santa Claus, was stopped in the northbound lane of State Road 162 waiting on the automatic signal. When it turned green and she proceeded forward, her 2017 Kia Forte LX was rear-ended.
She told police the male driver of the older model white pickup truck got out of the truck and approached her asking if she was okay. She asked him to pull over on the side of the roadway but after she pulled off the road, she realized he had driven away.
Police estimated there were about $1,000 in damages to Kissel’s Kia.

This intersection seems to be the most controversial and accident-plagued in the county.
