Deputies arrest woman for domestic battery

Holland — Dubois County deputies arrested AnJanette Welp, 48, of 6807 West 1025S, Holland, on a Level 6 felony county of domestic battery in the presence of a child under 16, Tuesday night.

According to authorities, the Holland Town Marshal contacted the sheriff’s department at about 8:09 p.m. to investigate a possible battery that occurred outside Holland. Deputies went to the 1025S address and interviewed a male victim who reported that Welp had struck him in the chest while the two were arguing. The strike had caused redness and pain.

Two children under the age of 16 were present during the alleged battery, according to police.

Welp was located at a family-member’s residence in Jasper and taken into custody without incident. She was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:31 p.m.
