Denise M. Goodman, 56

Denise M. Goodman, age 56, of Celestine, Indiana passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Denise was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 9, 1957 to Michael and Shirley (Ragland) Vogt. She married Lee Ray Goodman on August 29, 1986 at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, IN.

Denise worked at National Office Furniture 11th Avenue for over 25 years.

She was a member of St. Celestine Catholic Church, where she taught high school religious education (CCD) for over 23 years, and was a member of the St. Ann’s Sodality.

She volunteered for the St. Vincent DePaul soup kitchen.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving, husband, Lee Ray Goodman, Celestine; one daughter, Andrea Johnston, and her husband Chris, Jasper; two grandchildren Zach and Alexis Johnston; father, Michael Vogt Sr., Jasper; four brothers, Michael Vogt Jr and his wife Cindy G., Jasper, Tim Vogt, Jasper, Mark Vogt and his wife Cindy A., Crestwood, KY, and John Vogt and his wife Laura, Danville, IL.

Preceding her in death was an infant son, Jonathan William Underwood, and her mother Shirley Vogt.

Funeral services for Denise M. Goodman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (September 7, 2013) at St. Celestine Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The St. Ann’s Sodality will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m.
