Denis L. Uebelhor, 80

Denis L. Uebelhor, age 80, of Schnellville, passed away at 11:10 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Denis was born in Schnellville, IN on October 9, 1933 to Hilbert and Rose (Metz) Uebelhor. He married Mary Ann Pund on January 15, 1952 at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand, IN.

Denis was a farmer and also worked in construction.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he served on the building and grounds committee, and was recipient of the Simon Brute award. He was a member of The St. Vincent De Paul Society, Past Director of the Farm Bureau Cooperative, a member the Schnellville Conservation Club, and the Laborers Local Union #561. He was also a member of the Schnellville Development Club.

He was born and spent his entire life at his same Schnellville residence.

He enjoyed hunting, and spending time with his family and with his pet dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Uebelhor, of Schnellville, IN; two daughters, Becky Ubelhor and her husband Roch, of Schnellville, IN, and Debbie Brosmer and her husband Doug, of St. Anthony, IN; four sons, Denis A. Uebelhor and his wife Mary Lee, of Ferdinand, IN, Ed Uebelhor and his wife Kathy, of Schnellville, IN, Charlie Uebelhor, of Schnellville, IN, and Perry Uebelhor and wife Pensri, of Jasper, IN; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents.

Funeral services for Denis L. Uebelhor will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, IN, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and 1 hour before services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
