Delphine “Della” Catherine Reutman, 86

Delphine “Della” Catherine Reutman, 86, of Ferdinand passed away Thursday January 23rd at her home.

Delphine was born November 24,1927 in St. Meinrad to Odilo & Pauline (Konerding) Vaal.

She married Clarence Reutman on May 29,1954 at St. Meinrad Archabbey Church, St. Meinrad. He preceded her in death on March 21,2008.

Delphine was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, sense of humor & honesty. Her example of thankfulness for all things will live on in the lives of her loved ones.

Della was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish, and its St. Ann’s Sodality, & Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 Auxillary. She loved word search puzzles.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Vaal and a step-great-grandchild.

Surviving are three sons, Charles Reutman of Ferdinand, Terry Reutman and wife Cathy of Dale, and John Reutman and wife Marna of Indianapolis; five daughters, Carol Bradford and husband Dave, Annette Dowell and husband Gary, Jan Egenolf and husband Dan all of Mooresville, Ind., Darlene Sarber and husband Ken of Dade City, Fla., and Angela Wilson and husband Rob of Micanopy, Fla.;  three brothers, Walter Vaal and wife Viola of Ferdinand, Arthur Vaal and wife Virginia of Jasper, and Tony Vaal and wife Linda of Michigan;  four sisters, Verena Kempf of Huntingburg, Irma Kempf of St. Anthony, Annie Lange of Ferdinand, Mary Lee Luebbehusen and husband Sylvester of Haubstadt. 18 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 28th in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday and 7-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
