Delphia Sendelweck, 83, Jasper
Delphia Sendelweck, 83, of Jasper, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society- Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

Delphia was born in Loogootee on March 27, 1936, to Orian and Ora (Parsons) Hembree. She married John Sendelweck on June 8, 1957, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2011.
Delphia babysat for over 30 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of WELCA and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville. She volunteered at Good Samaritan Retirement Community for many years where she won, “Volunteer of the Year Award in 2004.” She enjoyed traveling on cruises and bus tours. She especially enjoyed her trip to LA where she attended a live showing of her favorite game show, “The Price is Right.” She had a passion for playing cards, going to dances, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her three daughters, Ann Sendelweck of Huntingburg, Arlene (Jeff) Luker of Jasper and Tara (Travis) Roach of Jasper; three sons, Randy Sendelweck of Evansville, Richard Sendelweck of Jasper and Ron Sendelweck of Jeffersonville; six grandchildren, Lauren Nigg of Newburgh, Karissa Luker of Jeffersonville, Emma Luker of Jasper, Faith Sendelweck of Evansville, Dakota and Devon Roach, both of Jasper; one step-grandson, Matthew Luker of Celestine; family friend, Lorenzo Vaiardi of Italy, and companion, Stanley Letterman of Jasper; two great-grandchildren and one on the way; three step-great-grandsons; one sister, Lucille Fuhrman of Loogootee; one brother, Norman Hembree of Carlisle.
Preceding her death besides her husband are, eight sisters, Mary Hembree, Melva Simmons, Sylvia Keller, Edith Ziegler, Ora Taylor, Crystal Dyal, Veda Chambers, Velma Wening; and four brothers, Alvin, Ernie, Woody, and Bub Hembree.
Funeral services for Delphia Sendelweck will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Tim Holt will officiate.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday December 22, 2019 at the Becher Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Good Samaritan Society-Northwood Retirement Community, and Heart to Heart Hospice.
