Delores Marie Auffart, 95, Huntingburg

Delores Marie Auffart, 95, of Huntingburg, passed away at 8:40 a.m., on Monday, October 8, 2018, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born January 19, 1923, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Louis and Frances (Schepers) Uebelhor. She married Norbert Auffart on June 4, 1947, in Huntingburg.

Delores worked as a restaurant cook. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the St. Anne’s Society. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, playing cards and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Auffart, who died June 24, 1981; one daughter, Joan Reckelhoff; two sisters, Viola Oser and Irene Peters; and one grandchild.

She is survived by four children, Albert (Martha) Auffart of Cutler, Ind., Margie (Bill) Staten of Ladoga, Ind., Marilyn Kunkler of Charlestown, Ind., and Susanne (Bob) Brown of Taswell, Ind.; son-in-law, Dan Reckelhoff of St. Anthony, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Delores Marie Auffart will be held at 10:00 a.m. EDT on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10th.  A parish rosary prayer vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
