Delbert L. Niehaus, 77

Delbert L. Niehaus, 77, of Dale, passed away at 3:20 CDT a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born October 6, 1937 in Holland, Indiana, to Aaron and Opal (Wellmeyer) Niehaus.
He was a veteran of the Army and served in the 2nd Armored Division, “Hell on Wheels” at Fort Hood, Texas. Delbert worked at Holland Dairy and also as a heavy equipment mechanic at various coal mines. He was a member of Holland American Legion Post # 343. He enjoyed sports, fishing and tinkering with his WD 45 Allis Chalmers tractor and socializing with his buddies at the Holland Legion.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his twin brother, Delmar; his brothers, Ralph, Donny and Junior Niehaus.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty (Sibrel) Niehaus, three daughters and one son-in-law, Kim (Gary) Clark of Hamilton, Ohio, Kelly Niehaus of Yellowbanks and Kristy Miller (fiancé, Vernon Light) of Troy, Mo.; three brother-in-laws, Bill, Jim and Don Sibrel; one sister, Anna Mae Williams; four grandchildren, Leah, Lindsi, John and Kayla; five great-grandchildren, Owen, Peyton, Cooper, Annabelle and Korbin; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Delbert Niehaus will be held at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Nass and Son Funeral Home with burial to follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Holland. The Holland American Legion Post #343 will conduct military graveside rites. The funeral service will be officiated by Jack Neighbors.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday.
