Deadly Dale intersection topic of upcoming public forum

The Indiana Department of Transportation is gathering public input as it assesses the safety at the south junction of U.S. Highway 231 and State Road 62 near Dale.

The intersection has been the scene of multiple injury and fatal crashes. The most recent involving retired Heritage Hills Middle School principal Susan D. Grundhoefer.

INDOT will hold a special hearing at 6 p.m. local time on Thursday, Jan. 22 in the Heritage Hills High School auditorium, located at 3644 East County Road 1600 North in Lincoln City. INDOT officials will meet with the community and listen to verbal testimony. No formal presentation is planned.

Written comments may also be submitted during the hearing or at any time through Friday, Feb. 13 to INDOT’s Office of Public Involvement, 100 N. Senate Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46204.
