Deadline for submissions to 23rd Annual Juried Art Show at Krempp Gallery

The Krempp Gallery at the Jasper Arts Center encourages artists to submit applications for the 23rd Annual Juried Art Show, September 2016. Only artists who are current or former residents of Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan or Ohio can apply.
Applications are now available on our website, www.jasperarts.org.
To apply, send by email or snail-mail digital images of the appropriate dimensions, along with the application. The application must be postmarked by June 30, 2016.
The juror, Roger Willis, is currently the Gallery Director at Oakland City University in Oakland City, Indiana. Prior to his current position, Willis taught in the public schools for forty-three years, wrote numerous grants as a grant writer and up to ten years ago worked as an Adjunct Instructor and as the Assistant Gallery Director at Oakland City University. He developed a multi-cultural artist program that included bringing in artists from different countries including China, Japan, and Russia, along with focusing on Native American artists including Winnebago, Cherokee and Hopi.
Willis has received many awards throughout the years. In 2002, he received the Golden Apple Award from Channel 10 in Terre Haute as the most outstanding teacher in Martin County. For a number of years he served as the judge for the Golden Apple Awards. Willis graduated from Oakland City University and continued on to receive his Masters from Indiana State University.
$2,000 in prize monies will be awarded in the categories of BEST OF SHOW, AWARD OF EXCELLENCE, HIGH HONOR AWARD, and five HONORABLE MENTIONS.
The Krempp Gallery, located in the Jasper Arts Center adjacent to the VUJC campus, is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., until 7 p.m. on Thursdays, and Sunday from noon to 3:00 p.m. School groups, clubs, and students are welcome. Admission is free.
