Deaconess and Memorial Hospital purchase St. Joseph Hospital

Huntingburg – Deaconess Health System and Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center have
acquired the former St. Joseph’s Hospital property in Huntingburg.

This purchase consists of 9.8 acres, including the hospital and the medical office on the south end of the property.

This location will offer much-needed geriatric psychiatric services through a joint venture with
Assurance Health. Approximately forty-five employees will be hired. No other services are
planned at this facility at this time.

Renovations will begin immediately, and a projected opening date and more information will be
forthcoming, said officials.

Memorial announced its new affiliation with Deaconess in 2023 and finalized it in February of this year.

This collaborative project underscores the commitment of Deaconess and Memorial Hospital to
enhance healthcare services and employment opportunities within the communities we serve, stated the hospital in a press release regarding the acquisition.
