Dayne K. Hartke, 75, Stendal

Dayne K. Hartke, 75, of Stendal, passed away on March 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in June 1950 to Oliver and Mary Louise Hartke, he was a man of integrity, kindness, and hard work.  During his high school career, he was an avid athlete, participating in basketball, cross-country, track, and baseball.  As an outdoorsman, he loved and enjoyed anything and everything to do with being outside, fishing, hunting, etc.

He was a retired brickmason and union official for Alcoa Warrick. He was a member for 50-plus years of the (BAC) Local 4 Indiana and Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Dordon “Duke” Hartke.

Dayne is survived by his wife, Bertha Hartke; children, Rustin (Erin) Hartke of Oakland City, Rhett (Amanda) Hartke of Petersburg, Ronica (Eric) Hartke Hageman of Knoxville, Tennessee and Ryan (Wendy Thompson) Hartke; stepdaughter, Tiffanie (Lawrence) Banks of Evansville; (12) grandchildren and (3) great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Dayne Hartke will be held at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal with burial to follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor John Beasley will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for a visitation at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday. Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
