David W. Schnarr, 85 Indianapolis

David W. Schnarr, 85, of Indianapolis, formerly of Jasper, passed away at 10:03 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.  

David was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 11, 1937, to Edwin and Rusena (Mann) Schnarr.   

He attended Boone Township grade school and was a graduate of Jasper High School. He then graduated with a Master’s Degree in teaching from Purdue University.   

David taught at various high schools in Indiana, with his one being Ireland High School.   

He then became a commercial underwriter for Farm Bureau Insurance, retiring in 1997.  

He was a coach for the Ireland Merchants Baseball team. He enjoyed playing cards and watching Purdue sports, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts.   

Surviving is one daughter, Debby Anderson of Indianapolis, and one grandson, Shawn Anderson of Indianapolis.  

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Edwin Schnarr Jr.  

A graveside funeral service for David W. Schnarr will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Shiloh Cemetery in Jasper, Indiana. Pastor Timothy Kraemer will officiate. There will be no visitation before the service.
