David W. Curry, 84, Tennyson

David W. Curry, 84, of Tennyson, passed away at 3:41 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 4, 1941, in Newburgh, Indiana, to Everett and Virginia (Chambliss) Curry.

On July 30, 1960, he married the love of his life, Verna Herr, in Fort Myers, Florida.

David was a lifetime member of Eureka Masonic Lodge #397. He worked for many years as a skilled brick mason and general contractor. More than 60 years ago, he and his lifelong friend, Ray Rhoades, founded Rhoades and Curry Masonry and Construction, Inc., building not only a successful business but also a lasting friendship. In his spare time, David enjoyed woodworking and took great pride in creating projects with his hands.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Jim Curry and Judy Strickland; one grandson, Justin Milam; and his longtime friend and business partner, Ray Rhoades.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Curry of Tennyson; two daughters, Kathy (Charles) Still of Gentryville and Bonnie (Tommy) Roylance of Fishers; and two brothers, Robert and Harold Curry.

Funeral arrangements are currently pending at Rainey Funeral Home in Dale. The family would like to give a special thanks to Compassus Hospice for their loving care.
