David J. Altmeyer, 39

David J. Altmeyer, 39, of Jasper, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015, at his residence.

He was born September 16, 1975 at the Naval Hospital in Cherry Point, N.C., to Lawrence J. and Mary (Boyer) Altmeyer.

David was a construction worker and a skilled mechanic who enjoyed working on vehicles in his spare time. He also enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar.

He is survived by his father, Lawrence J. (Phillis) Altmeyer of Huntingburg; his mother, Mary (Richard) Boyer-Israel of Stratford, Conn.; daughter, Carrie Beth Altmeyer of Oak Grove, Ky.; son, Larry David Altmeyer of Henderson, Ky.; two brothers, Vincent Altmeyer of Robards, Ky. and Shane Schwindel of Jasper; and two sisters, Theresa Anderson of Henderson, Ky. and Shawn Layton of Dale.

Funeral services for David J. Altmeyer will be held at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. Cremation will take place following the visitation and funeral service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and also from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday. A parish vigil prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
