David Allen Hanselman, 61, Indianapolis

David Allen Hanselman was born May 29, 1963, in Huntingburg, the son of Allen David Hanselman and Evelyn “Darlene” Silvers Beech.

Affectionately known as “Cowboy” by his family and friends, David worked as a farm hand. His passion was racing horses. His specialty was Standardbred horses, and he was a previous member of the United States Trotting Association (USTA).

David departed this life on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 61 years old. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Judith Hanselman; and nephew, William “Billy” Pryor.

David leaves behind to cherish his memories, his sisters, Marilyn James and Martha (James) Volz, both of Velpen; brothers, Mark Hanselman of Coleman, Fla. and Mike (Marilyn) Hanselman of Velpen; 14 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. 

A special thanks to all who cared for our dear Cowboy over the years. Your compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.
