Daughters of Isabella Jasper Circle #140 meeting notes
Daughters of Isabella Jasper Circle #140 met for their regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 15, 2022. Regent Kathy Schneider called the meeting to order. Vice Regent Marge Beckman lead the prayer and all recited the Pledge to the Flag. Draping of the Carter was then held for recently deceased members Mary Jane Neuhoff, Sharon Apple, Marilyn Sonderman and Earlene Hohler.
Regent Schneider welcomed Jane Vogler, Phyllis Werne and Brenda Clark to the Circle. The new members were welcomed and the Obligation given.
A Spiritual Reflection was read by Vice Regent Marge Beckman. Members were invited to offer special intentions and the members offered prayers to those intentions. Recording Secretary Pam Schneider called the Roll Call of Officers. Absent were Chancellor Bev Himsel and Auditor Sharon Gramelspacher. Minutes were read from the previous meeting and approved.
Treasurer Rose Rasche gave a report of the Treasurer. Our Circle gave an additional $1,500 to the St. Joseph’s Our Time Campaign. Recording Secretary Schneider read a request from Holy Family Church to the D of I to donate $25 to the Grand Raffle as a prize. Scribe Kathy Bachman will match the $25 given for a total prize of $50. The Circle agreed to donate the $25.
Quarterly Reports followed. Financial Secretary Betty Mehringer reported that to date, we have 310 members in our Circle. Treasurer Rose Rasche gave the treasurer’s report. A number of the members joined before 1980. Those members’ churches are gifted with a $100 donation in memory of that member. We are mindful of that with our treasury. Auditors Mary Jo Hart and Pam Howard found the books to be in order.
Members Tracy Markel and Sharon Gramelspacher visited members in July, and Carol Sander, Sharon Sermersheim and Sue Luebbehusen are scheduled for August. The Travelling Willow Tree Starry Night Nativity set will be taken home this month by Pam Howard. The Nativity Set will be returned to the former State regent in October. Our Circle had prayed with it for a year.
Prayers were offered for the membership to the Daughters of Isabella.
Scribe Kathy Bachman read resolutions on the deaths of members Mary Jane Neuhoff, Sharon Apple, Marilyn Sonderman and Earlene Hohler. A copy of the resolutions will be sent to the families.

The next dates to work will be September 9, October 28, November 18 and December 23. Contact Regent Schneider if you can help.
