Darlene Allstott, 76, French Lick

Darlene Allstott, 76, of French Lick, entered into eternal rest on June 30, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper.

She was born in New Albany, Indiana, on March 4, 1950, to Arthur James and Golda Alice (Belcher) Tabor.

Darlene married Doug R. Allstott on April 22, 1989, and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2012.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Jay Zehr; and daughter, Christina Zehr.

Darlene was a 1969 graduate of Springs Valley High School, had owned the Hoosier and Turf Bars, and Valley Shoe Store. She was the first female Orange County Deputy Sheriff, then served as the jail matron, and retired from the Indiana State Highway Department.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards, being on Facebook and spending time with grandkids and family.

Darlene is survived by her Son, Barry Zehr; brothers, Avon Tabor and Mike Tabor; sister, Dora Hopper; grandchildren, Sydney Collins and Ella Temple;

Cremation was chosen.

Arrangements are in the care of Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home in French Lick, Indiana.
